About Peugeot 208 and 2008 in Malaysia

The Peugeot 2008 was launched in Malaysia back in early 2014 with a price tag of around RM120,000. It was quite an appealing product at the time as the B-segment crossover market was still new at the time and the Peugeot 2008 was a fresh face with loads of equipment for its price. In Malaysia, the Peugeot 2008 came with a panoramic sunroof, 7″ infotainment unit, and more. When launched, the 208 and 2008 featured a 1.6-litre naturally-aspirated 4-cylinder petrol engine which produced 122PS at 6,000rpm and 160Nm at 4,250rpm.

The facelifted Peugeot 2008 and 208 were debuted in Malaysia in 2017 with a mild redesign and a new 1.2L PureTech turbocharged 3-cylinder petrol engine. This motor produced 112PS at 5,500rpm and 205Nm at 1,500rpm and featured a 6-speed conventional automatic gearbox. 0-100km/h was done in 9.8 seconds in the 208 and in 10.3 seconds in the 2008 with this powertrain.
